HAMMOND- A woman is accused of shooting her husband four times and has been arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder.
Alesha Douglas, 42, was arrested Sunday morning.
Deputies said her husband called 911 about 2:00 a.m. and only gave his address. When they arrived, Douglas was leaving their house in a vehicle without headlights turned on.
Douglas told deputies her husband, Brian, was inside the house, armed and "irrational," a Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson said.
When deputies went inside, they found Brian Douglas, 43, shot.
Investigators believe the couple got into a fight, and Alesha Douglas found a gun and shot her husband. They accuse her of trying to leave the scene of the crime.
Brian Douglas survived.
