BATON ROUGE- Police Chief Dwayne White has finished his testimony at a special hearing into his future.

Mayor-President Kip Holden said he would have a decision in the matter in about ten minutes.

White testified for more than an hour telling Holden he and the police department had been micro-managed. He also said the mayor had created an impossible situation for anyone to resume as chief. He also charged that the mayor had violated his rights.

White ended his prepared statement by saying: " I stand ready to serve our city and combat our crime problem."

Holden and White were facing off for the first time since Holden fired White two weeks ago.

A public hearing is going on right now and it is being streamed live on our website, and broadcast on cable channel 19 WBTR.
