White Castle ferry closed for three weeks

The White Castle ferry is closed for approximately three weeks for repairs, that's according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

The 17-car White Castle ferry was moved to the St. Francisville/New Roads ferry landing Saturday after the vessel operating at that location was taken out of service to allow crews to replace the engine.

Service at the White Castle landing will resume once repairs are complete.

The ferry's normal hours are from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
