LAS VEGAS- A law student from California goes to trial in Nevada on felony charges of torturing and beheading an exotic bird at a resort on the Las Vegas strip. Justine Teixeira waived a hearing on evidence on charges of animal killing and animal torture for killing a helmeted guineafowl at the Flamingo Las Vegas. A fellow University of California student pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and a prosecutor says a third student may face charges.
