West Nile Mosquito pools test positive
BATON ROUGE - East Baton Rouge officials have reported two mosquitoes pools found positive for West Nile, and West Baton Rouge reported only one positive test.
Todd Walker, Director of Mosquito and Rodent Control, said they received the results on Friday and determined that two mosquito pools with West Nile were along Goodwood and on 72th street.
West Baton Rouge detected their positive mosquito pool around the Huey P. Long Bridge.
Walker said that it's not unusual to find West Nile in mosquitoes around this time but there has been a major increase in the flood mosquitoes because of flooding and high water.
Ascension and Livingston parish have not received any positive results of West Nile.
However, Mosquito pool testing continues across the area.
