West Monroe man accused of broom attack
WEST MONROE - Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies have booked a 39-year-old West Monroe man with domestic abuse battery and aggravated battery.
Deputies were called to St. Francis Medical Center Sunday where a woman said James Lee McDaniel, her ex-husband, allegedly pushed her down and hit her on the right side of her face after she grabbed a metal broom from him.
McDaniel reportedly hit a man on the head with the broom. The arrest report stated the wound required staples to close.
Deputies say the suspect was questioned at his home and admitted to an altercation with the man, but denied hitting him or pushing his ex-wife.
McDaniel was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center.
It was unclear whether he had an attorney.
