GOLDEN MEADOW, La. - State police say a stretch of state highway in Golden Meadow is back open, after an oil well blew wild Thursday morning.

The well was brought under control quickly and plugged by midday.

No explosions, fires or injuries were reported.

There were no evacuations but State Troopers say, a section of Louisiana Highway
3235 was closed after about 400 feet of it was covered with oil.
