As the threat for severe weather has diminished, we are left with 40 warnings issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans; 26 of which were tornado warnings and 14 severe thunderstorm warnings. This happened all over a span of nine hours.

There were 47 confirmed storm reports along the Gulf Coast today. That includes 18 confirmed tornado reports, 19 hail reports, and 10 strong wind reports. Out of the 18 confirmed tornadoes, only two were outside the area under the "moderate" risk for severe weather; an uncommonly seen risk level for the Gulf Coast.

As we transition into the end of the week and weekend, you can expect beautiful conditions with plenty of sunshine. Conditions will be very pleasant and cool. Temperatures warm up a bit into the weekend, but the humidity will likely stay low.

The next chance of rain will return Monday and Tuesday, with only a few showers expected.
