BATON ROUGE - I-10 toward downtown was at a standstill for a part of Wednesday afternoon after a car overturned above Washington Street.

The vehicle could be seen upside down from state traffic cameras. Numerous emergency crews were gathered around the vehicle and, at times, traffic was moving around the crash scene. There did not appear to be another crashed vehicle within sight of the camera but authorities have not released specifics.

At the peak, the westbound traffic jam stretched four miles to the 10/12 split.
