Influenza (flu) is a highly contagious viral infection. It can make you sick for a week or longer with coughing, fever, aching, and more, and it can lead to complications such as pneumonia. Each year, thousands of people in the U.S. are hospitalized with flu and flu complications, resulting in thousands of deaths. Flu is contagious as early as 24 hours before signs and symptoms are present.  Seniors, age 65 and older, are at high risk for flu and flu complications.

This program provides protection for our seniors against a potentially deadly disease. For additional information on “Flu Shots for Seniors”, visit www.wbrz.com, www.2theadvocate.com or www.brgeneral.org.
