WBR looking for more firefighters
PORT ALLEN - Fire Chiefs Mike Alleman and Tim Crocket from the West Baton Rouge Fire Department joined the fire service to help those they live with, as well as the entire community. The number of people serving in fire crews across the nation is down. Alleman and Crocket stopped by 2une In Thursday to inspire others to share their vision.
"We're always looking for people to join," Chief Crocket told News 2's John Pastorek. "You can go to your respective fire departments or you can just call any local fireman and tell them you're interested. They'll get you in the right direction."
Both fire chiefs agreed that the rewarding feelings that come with the job have been priceless. They encourage anyone on the fence to stop by the firehouse and talk to people or attend some meetings to get a better understanding of the organization.
