PORT ALLEN - School leaders and parents will be meeting in West Baton Rouge Parish today to discuss the controversial testing associated with Common Core education standards.
Superintendent Wesley Watts set-up a pair of meetings for parents who plan to opt their kids out of PARCC testing. There is one at 10 a.m. Thursday morning, followed by a second at 5 p.m. Thursday evening. Both are at the School Board Headquarters in Port Allen .
PARCC testing is now just a week and a half away. Exams will be administered March 16th - 20th. If a student chooses to opt out, it will record a zero for the school and impact the overall state score.
