DONALDSONVILLE - State environmental officials are seeing red today at Bayou Lafourche, and lots of it.

The Department of Environmental Quality put harmless red dye into the waterway to test how long it would take an actual pollutant to travel to local water pumps.

The data will help them prepare to fight any actual pollutants or spills in the waterway.
