It is a very hot afternoon and evening across Southeast Louisiana. We have partly cloudy skies and there are a few showers popping up. Most of them will be short-lived, but could bring a quick downpour to your neighborhood. Temperatures are in the lower 90s and will fall into the 80s by 8 PM.
We will be mostly clear, warm and muggy tonight. Low temperatures will fall to the lower 70s.
Saturday and Sunday will be a sizzler! We will have an area of high pressure building in over the Deep South and that will allow for mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies both days. A few showers could pop-up with the daytime heating, but most of you will remain dry. It will be very hot and more humid with high temperatures in the mid 90s. The heat index will be around 100 to 105 at times!
We are also watching the low trying to form in the Gulf of Mexico. It is possible that is could become a tropical depression or even a storm this weekend. Right now to it too early to make a call as to where it will go since it has not formed yet.
Be sure to keep it tuned to News 2 tonight and this weekend for additional weather updates. Also, you can watch my video forecast for more details too.
