A man wanted for numerous outstanding warrants was arrested just after midnight Sunday when deputies found him at a club in Fluker.

Authorities found 28-year-old Tryieo Bates sitting underneath the DJ booth and told him he was under arrest for the outstanding warrants. He was also charged with auto theft.

According to police reports, Bates told deputies he didn’t understand the auto theft charge because “the keys were already inside the vehicle” and that he simply went “joyriding.” The report also said Bates didn’t know how police knew it was him because after leading them on a chase, he bailed from the vehicle and ran, so they didn’t even see his face.

Police said Bates was also charged with failure to appear in court for simple battery, DWI, careless operation of a vehicle, several traffic violations and for non-support.
