Walking on water
Some students at Florida International University are walking on water. As a class assignment, they do it on shoes they created. The goal was to make it to the other side of a 175-foot lake on campus while wearing aquatic shoes to earn an "A." Seventy-nine students took part and Alex Quinones was the first, earning the "A" plus $500 and bragging rights. The professor says the annual race is a lesson in life as well as architecture. Jaime Canaves says he wants to show students that as long as they research and test their work, anything is possible, including walking on water.
