Walker woman's son arrested, accused of killing her
WALKER- Walker Police arrested 17-year old Eddie R. Island in connection with the murder of his mother, 34-year old Tamila Wooley.
Wooley was found shot multiple times in the chest in her townhome on Village Road on New Year's Day. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators said Island confessed to shooting Wooley, and apparently did it on Sunday. He returned for two days to feed his 11-year-old half-brother and 2-year-old half-sister inside the residence. He told them not to go into their mother's room, because she was ill, according to investigators.
Police said they found Island driving Wooley's black Lexus north of Walker around two in the morning. He was taken into custody and charged with second degree murder.
This is the first murder in Walker in five years.
