Volunteers sought for Gayosa Park mural painting
BATON ROUGE - BREC and The Walls Project announced they will team up on Saturday, July 12 to create in a mural in BREC's Gayosa Park and are on the lookout for artistic volunteers.
BREC and The Walls Project recently collaborated on a mural titled "parade" at BREC's Convention St. Park, which BREC said embodies the local community while providing a pretty scene for park patrons.
BREC Superintendent Carolyn McKnight said the mural at Gayosa Park is another chance to bring beautiful artwork to the beloved neighborhood park in a medium that will survive for years to come.
The organizations are calling on residents from the Mid-City area and all over Baton Rouge to volunteer their time and talents to make the vision of the mural a reality. Individuals interested in volunteering for the project can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or can report to Gayosa Park at 8 a.m. on July 12 to join the team of volunteer painters.
