Volunteers help WBRZ 'Stuff the Bus'
BATON ROUGE - Volunteers helped WBRZ stuff school buses with more than $67,000 in donated school supplies Wednesday.
The buses in Baton Rouge and Gonzales were filled to nearly overflowing with paper, crayons, pencils, and more to help kids in need this coming school year.
Schools supplies were donated throughout the day, and had been donated to area Raising Cane's restaurants in the weeks before.
Final tallies of donated supplies and money will be announced Thursday.
WBRZ's Stuff the Bus is sponsored by Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, St. Elizabeth Hospital, and ExxonMobil. Members of the Volunteers In Public Schools and Volunteer Ascension helped with Wednesday's Stuff the Bus event.
