BATON ROUGE - A volunteer rescue group from Illinois are helping in the search for a missing firefighter from Baton Rouge.
Jacob Lewis fell into Belle River January 30 while trying to get his boat on a trailer. The search for Lewis' body has been unsuccessful.
The group is now using sonar up and down the river. A jambalaya and gumbo fundraiser will be held tomorrow at the Bogan Fire Museum on Laurel Street during the Spanish Town parade. All proceeds will help the Lewis family.
Lewis was a firefighter in Baton Rouge for about four years.
