Vitter town hall meeting met with protest

Senator David Vitter held a health care forum Saturday morning at Westdale Middle School in Baton Rouge.

More than 100 people showed up to the forum to voice concerns to Sen. Vitter.

"People need to be heard," said Sen. Vitter. "I think people's biggest frustration is that so many folks feel they're being shut out of the debate and they just aren't being  heard in Washington."

Protesters lined up outside the school to voice their descent for an unrelated amendment vote of opposition made by Sen. Vitter concerning sexual assault victims who work for military contractors.

"They're trying to revoke my rights to speak and defend myself as a victim," said a rape victim.

"I actually supported the Obama administration's position on the amendment," said Sen. Vitter, "they said it would hurt the efforts of our men and women in uniform."

There were more words dedicated to the protesters and the rape victim to the actual subject of the Town Hall meeting, which was Health Care Reform - count them.
