ANGOLA - A St. Tammany Parish woman is free after posting $12,000 bail for allegedly trying to smuggle marijuana into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

The Advocate reports 23-year-old Shauntae M. Joseph, of Slidell, was booked Sunday into the West Feliciana Parish Jail on a charge of introduction of contraband into a penal institution. Maj. Archer Lee says Joseph was released after posting bail.

Lee says Joseph, who was attempting to visit an inmate, was found to be carrying a small amount of marijuana when she was being processed at the prison's visitor center.
