Violence hidden behind "Christian values" in La. swamp plot of new TV show
NEW ORLEANS- TV shows about Louisiana's culture aren't enough for television producers who are rolling out new features, this time about the mos "salacious stories from south of the Mason-Dixon Line."
Southern Fried Homicide and Swamp Murders join the summer line-up on Investigation Discovery, a cable network connected with Discovery Communications.
Southern Fried Homicide even has a "local host:" actress Shanna Forrestall, a native of Louisiana.
According to the company, Southern Fried Homicide will highlight vicious acts committed by some of the least likely: people with "good ol' moral values," according to a press release. Producers said the show will prove, evil creeps in even among Christian principals and Southern hospitality like "vines on a time-worn plantation."
The other series highlighting Louisiana's murderous mysteries, Swamp Murders, finds bodies in marshes, bogs, and other "ark, dank, unsettling places."
The shows are set to begin in June.
