BATON ROUGE - A capital city native captured video that's getting seen across the country.

Monday, a Southwest flight made a crash landing at New York's Laguardia Airport. Baton Rouge man Bryan Foster recorded it from inside the cabin.

"I was thrown forward. My son hit the seat in front of him. I hit the seat in front of me. It was a hard landing," Foster said.

He caught the video on his GoPro video camera because it was his first landing in New York. It shows baggage flying and you can hear the panic that ensues.

"We don't know if there is a fire outside. We don't know what's going on outside and you see the emergency vehicles completely surrounding you, sirens, lights flashing, people running. So in our mind, let's just get off the plane. We left our baggage on the plane," he said.

Another video shows the plane landing nose first with sparks streaking from its belly.

"I looked out the window as I was videoing and I could see the engine on the runway and I said I don't think we're going anywhere," Foster said.

He, his wife and son used emergency slides to get out of the plan and were not hurt.

"Two things to write off my bucket list, going to New York and surviving a plane crash," he said. "Don't want to do it again."

Southwest Airlines compensated Foster and his family for their experience.
