Update: The male victim has been identified as Sylvester Jones. The female is Lavelvia Laneen Carter.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide at an apartment complex at Greenwell Springs Road.

Police responded to the complex around 4 a.m. where they found a black male dead in front of the apartment.

When they learned that the possible gunman was inside of the apartment, SRT was called to search the apartment.

Officers found a black female inside with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.

No names have been released at this time.
