Victim of Walker home invasion says incident was a nightmare
WALKER - The victim of a home invasion in Walker told News 2 the incident was a nightmare.
The victim, known as “Jimmy,” said he was surprised to find out 17-year-old Wade Riddle was allegedly involved because Jimmy said the two have hung out together. According to Jimmy, Riddle has been to his house, to a party he’s thrown and has even worked with him.
Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Riddle, 18-year-old Cody James Boyette and two juveniles in connection with the home invasion. Detectives said the four stole nearly $3,000 worth of items from the home.
Deputies arrested Riddle after getting a call that he was walking through a neighborhood and knocking on doors. When deputies got to the neighborhood, they found Riddle carrying two cell phones, one of which they traced back to the armed robbery.
The same day, Hope Moreau said she heard suspicious activity near her home. To be safe, she said she decided to check out the barn behind her home. That’s when she found a TV sitting in the hay and a laptop on a shelf above.
Detectives also found guns they believe were used in the armed robbery stashed behind the barn.
Since the robbery, Jimmy has installed a security system at his home and makes sure to lock his doors.
Investigators said the guns recovered in the armed robbery don’t belong to the teens. If you have any information on the guns or home invasion, you are urged to contact the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately.
