Victim in Central Thruway wreck dies
CENTRAL - Baton Rouge Police said a woman who ran a red light and was hit by an 18-wheeler has died from her injuries.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said Jackie Addison, 28, of Denham Springs died after the wreck on the newly-opened Central Thruway Thursday evening. Two children who were in the van with her survived.
McKneely said the 18-wheeler was turning left on a protected arrow from Central Thruway onto South Choctaw Drive when Addison ran the red light, crashing her van into the big rig.
McKneely said investigators did not suspect alcohol to be a factor in the wreck, and there were no charges pending.
