Victim identified in Pearl River explosion
PEARL RIVER- The victim of an explosion Sunday evening near Pearl River has been identified.
Authorities in St. Tammany Parish say 19 year-old Thomas James Rinkus Jr. was killed when a homemade explosive device detonated unexpectedly.
They say Rinkus and a 17 year-old, who was injured, were at a home near Pearl River, when the device exploded.
Rinkus' death appears to be accidental.
The injured teen's name was not released.
