Victim identified in deadly Miss. River Bridge crash
BATON ROUGE - Police identified a woman from Baton Rouge who was killed in a crash involving two vehicles on the Mississippi River Bridge early Tuesday morning.
Maci Sanders, 24, died on the scene of the crash from injuries sustained after she exited a sedan she was riding in, and it and was hit by a pickup truck. Investigators said it is believed Sanders exited the vehicle, just after it crossed the top of the bridge, after the driver said he thought he hit something.
Police said the driver of the oncoming truck did not notice the vehicle and stopped and crashed into it. Three other occupants of the sedan, along with the driver of the pickup truck, were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries shortly after the crash.
Baton Rouge Police said the crash remains under investigation.
