BATON ROUGE- People across the country are saluting the men and women in uniform on this Veterans Day.

Many events are being held throughout the Baton Rouge area to honor our American Heroes who risk their lives every day to protect ours.

The USS Kidd Veterans Museum and some of its partners are putting on their annual Veterans Day ceremony at the State Capitol. Veterans and community members are invited to come out and show their support for the brave men and women who have fought our country's battles.

The ceremony will feature a keynote speech from Afghanistan War Veteran, Mike McNaughton.

An honorarium will also be held at the Ascension Veterans Memorial Park in Gonzales.

Both events begin at 11 a.m. and are free and open to the public.
