Vet turned fake federal agent
WILLISTON, NORTH DAKOTA- A con man who ripped off people was busted again, this time posing as a fake FBI agent to score free coffee and a government rate at a motel.
Steven Goldman is an Iraq War veteran and a convicted felon who was caught with a gun, which led to another charge.
His lawyer says he's suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
But workers at the Boomtown Babes Espresso shop say they quickly saw through his claim of being an FBI agent and call him a scam artist who took advantage of store policy to give free coffee to members of law enforcement.
He's no stranger to the con game since he was busted in Nashville, Tennessee for failing to pay back victims he swindled out of thousands of dollars.
