BATON ROUGE - Public works crews are investigating the possibility a person driving westbound on I-12 Wednesday somehow crashed into a mowing crew working on the side of the interstate.

The impact flipped the private vehicle, which was seen upside down on state traffic cameras just before the Millerville Exit after lunchtime. There did not appear to be any life threatening injuries but a large emergency presence was seen on scene.

A Baton Rouge public works manager was headed to the scene. More information will be released later.

The crash response and investigation slowed westbound traffic.
