Vehicle sought in deadly hit-and-run
WALKER - Police identified a woman hit by two vehicles and killed while trying to cross Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge this weekend, and said they're searching for one of the vehicles which fled the scene.
Baton Rouge Police said 39-year-old Jannie Doiga died at the scene of the wreck, which happened late Saturday night at the intersection of Florida and North Donmoor.
Investigators said Doiga was trying to cross Florida from North Donmoor when she was hit by an SUV, then hit by a second SUV. Police said the first vehicle's drive stopped and tried to render aid, while the second SUV's drive fled as officers arrived.
Police said they believe Doiga may have been drunk at the time.
Investigators said the drive who fled the scene was in a gold or tan-colored Range Rover. Anyone with information about the drive of that vehicle should call BRPD Traffic Homicide division at (225) 389-7819.
