Vehicle sought in Darrow murder investigation

DARROW - Ascension Parish Deputies are looking for a vehicle they suspect may be involved in the June 27th murder of Darren Smylie, 19, of Darrow.


The murder occurred at a 39068 Venus Street home in Astroland Subdivision in Darrow where Smylie was found shot to death.

Authorities are searching for a vehicle that was seen leaving the victim's home between the hours of 2 pm and 3 pm.

The vehicle is described as a 1994 to 2004 Chevy S-10 or GMC Sonoma extended cab truck, white in color, similar to the one shown in the pictures.

A witness also says the truck as having a dark colored pen stripe down the side, located above the black molding.

The rear and side windows are tinted.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at 225-621-INFO (4636)

A $1000 reward is being offered by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office for any information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for the murder.
