BATON ROUGE - State Police said a suspect vehicle and driver have been taken into custody in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Ascension Parish.

Trooper Russell Graham said deputies with the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office detained a silver 4Runner today that matched the description of one that hit 22-year-old Crisy Hadley of Prairieville late Monday night. The driver was detained, and the vehicle sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Hadley had sustained critical injuries in the crash and was later pronounced brain-dead. Today, her family told News 2 they were "elated" to hear progress had been made in the case.

State Police are interviewing the driver, a woman, about the incident at this time.

News 2's Ashley Rodrigue is finding out more about today's arrest, and will have details starting on News 2 at 4.
