USS Kidd closes due to roof damage
BATON ROUGE - Museum officials closed the USS Kidd in downtown Baton Rouge due to storm damage Monday.
The museum said on their Facebook page that the storm caused "significant" roof damage to the main building. Executive Director Alex Juan said the most serious damage happened in the conference room, kitchen and gift shop of the building.
Officials said they were working to make necessary repairs while also protecting the military artifacts which are displayed and stored at the museum.
The museum did not give an estimate on how long it would take to repair the damage.
