USA goalkeeper Tim Howard suffered several broken ribs Saturday afternoon during his World Cup debut.
The 31 year-old's ribs were evaluated again Sunday, but he is expected to play in USA's next match set for Friday against Slovenia. Howard is highly regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and a team leader for the American squad.
However, if Tim Howard is not feeling up to par on Friday, coach Bob Bradley will choose from veteran Marcus Hahnemann and Brad Guzan to take Howard's place.
