From start to finish, it took U.S. Marshals less than 24 hours to track down accused killer Aramis Jackson, and tonight, they're talking about it.
Jackson is charged with shooting Alexandra Engler and her 9-year-old daughter Ariana in their home on Beauregard Street.
Marshals traced Jackson to a home in St. Bernard Parish. He was staying with a woman he'd just met on the Internet. Marshals said it was good, old-fashioned police work that tracked Jackson down.
Early Tuesday, local investigators thought Jackson could still be in Baton Rouge executing three separate search warrants.
From the time the Marshals got the call to aid in the investigation to the time they picked up Jackson in Violet, only 14 hours went by.
