NAPOLEONVILLE – Ten people wanted for drug crimes in Assumption Parish are now being sought by the U. S. Marshals Service, according to parish authorities.

Sheriff Mike Waguespack said the ten are the only outstanding suspects from a nine-month undercover operation targeting drug dealers in the parish.

A judge had issued 64 arrest warrants as part of the investigation, and deputies arrested more than 40 of them during last Friday’s roundup.  Several more turned themselves in over the weekend.

The cases involved undercover buys of prescription pills, cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana around the parish.

Anyone with information about the ten remaining suspects should contact the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 369-7281.
