Former Congressman Donald Cazayoux Jr. has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as U.S. attorney for Louisiana's Middle District, headquartered in Baton Rouge.
The New Roads Democrat served in Louisiana's House and won Baton Rouge's congressional seat in a 2008 special election, but lost a re-election bid later that year.
Cazayoux was a Pointe Coupee Parish prosecutor after graduating from Georgetown University's law school in 1991, and now is in private practice.
