US Army Sergeant found with 23lbs of pot
PORT ALLEN - State police say approximately 23 pounds of marijuana were found in a US Army Sergeant's car.
A State Trooper pulled over 30-year-old Sgt. Horace Brown of Cantonment Florida for a traffic violation. He was traveling on I-10 eastbound near LA 415 in Port Allen.
Officials say Sgt. Brown was wearing full military fatigues when he was pulled over.
Police say they became suspicious after talking with Sgt. Brown and asked to search the vehicle. After obtaining consent, troopers found the marijuana hidden in a duffle bag.
Sgt. Brown says he was traveling form Fort Polk to Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
Sgt. Brown was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish jail and charged with possesion with attempt to distribute and improper lane usage.
