Update: Speed may have led to crash
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge police say excessive speed may have been a factor in a crash on Florida Boulevard Friday night.
Police say a man driving a vehicle traveling eastbound on Florida Boulevard near Alello Drive lost control and drove through a light pole. The vehicle then struck an oncoming car head-on.
A witness told News 2 at the scene that the vehicle heading east was traveling at high speeds and may have been drag racing another vehicle.
Two men were transported with critical injuries to a hospital from the vehicle that struck the pole. A woman from the other vehicle involved was also transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
Police say the crash is still under investigation.
