Interstate reopens after wreck, 11-hour cleanup
BATON ROUGE - The eastbound lanes of I-12 at the O'Neal exit are back open after an 18-wheeler wreck caused it to be closed most of the day.
Louisiana State Police said the interstate opened after an 11-hour cleanup operation which started at 6 a.m. when a truck hauling two tandem trailers went off the roadway.
The truck was hauling isopropyl alcohol, which had to be offloaded and hauled away after the trailers were turned upright.
Traffic had been detoured north on O'Neal and into Denham Springs. The work caused congestion in both directions on I-12 throughout the day.
State Police said the driver was not injured in the wreck, and no other vehicles were involved.
