Update: EBT cards declined statewide
BATON ROUGE- EBT recipients reported that cards were being declined at local stores around the state since early Saturday morning.
Representatives from local grocery stores say that the problem is with the state's system not with their individual registers or store policies.
According to KATC, Lindsey Deblieux with Child and Family Services says, the contractor that maintains the SNAP retail transactions and makes sure cards work, Is calling the issue a "degradation of service for retail transaction". Deblieux says operators are working on the problem, but they are not sure when services will be up and running.
Other states have experienced the same problems.
Some sources are reporting that cards are working but with limitations.
