GONZALES - The Ascension Parish-based internet service provider Eatel confirmed an outage this evening knocked out service to some of their customer base.

Eatel spokesperson Trae Russell said a "hardware failure" was to blame.

Eatel reports that the hardware failure has been fixed. Customers can reboot their internet routers in order to restore service.

Eatel provides internet, phone and television service through their fiber optic network.
