Unrestrained driver dies in early morning crash
BATON ROUGE - State police say a man died in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
It happened on LA HWY 37 on Greenwell Springs Rd. at Pride-Baywood Rd. at 7:45 p.m.
Troopers say 40-year-old Lawrence E. Clay, Jr. of Baton Rouge was travelling northbound and approaching a left hand curve when his truck ran off the road running into a ditch and then hitting a tree.
Investigators say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed could be a factor in the incident.
