UNO to renovate student center
The University of New Orleans will shift more than $200,000 in post-hurricane renovations from administrative offices to the student center.
The move, announced Thursday, shifts $229,000 from renovations of the UNO Administration Building Annex to work at the UNO University Center. The center was damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
The money will pay for the renovation or replacement of restrooms, a student information desk, the elevator cab, fire alarm system and several other projects.
The money was part of a U.S. Department of Education hurricane recovery grant.
