ABINGDON, VIRGINIA- A man claimed some land in Africa, that no one wants to turn it into a kingdom, so his daughter can be a princess.
Jeremiah Heaton says he took a trip to a mountainous region between Egypt and Sudan called Bir Tawil and planted a flag designated by his kids.
It's so he could become a king but it also means his seven-year-old daughter, Emily, could be a princess.
The family calls the area the Kingdom of North Sudan.
One expert says Heaton would not have control over the area unless surrounding countries legally recognize it.
So, Heaton will ask Sudan and Egypt to recognize his kingdom.
