Union Tank Car adding workers at Louisiana plant

Union Tank Car Co. was planning to hire 80 to 100 new workers at its Alexandria plant- a move that will still have the manufacturer below peak employment.
Company officials said the exact number of new workers will depend upon the state of the economy.
They also said the company has received some orders for new railroad cars and additional workers are needed.
The plant currently has 270 workers.
