Unclaimed lottery prize set to expire next month
BATON ROUGE - A $10,000 state lottery prize unclaimed since March will expire next month if the winner doesn't step forward, according to the state lottery commission.
Lottery officials said the prize was a Powerball ticket which matched four of the five white balls on the March 14 drawing, which was 01-08-41-46-59 with a Powerball of 24.
The ticket was purchased at Raceway 996 on Johnson Street in Lafayette, and will expire Sept. 10 if not claimed before 5 p.m. that day.
"We look forward to the winner coming forward to claim this prize. In the meantime, the individual should treat the ticket as cash," said Lottery President Rose Hudson. "It is also a good idea to sign the back of the ticket for security purposes."
